0-1 GROTESQUES SQUAD - SEE CODEX DARK ELDAR

HELLSPAWN
Dark Eldar consume the souls of others to extend their own lives, but not all can afford such rare and precious commodities. Most die normally, but not all. Hellspawn are those unfortunate enough, by some strange effect of living in Commorragh, to live beyond the natural lifespan of their soul, becoming twisted shadows of their former selves, full of hatred for all things living.

Squad: The squad consists of between three and ten Hellspawn.

Weapons: Two close combat weapons.

Transport: If the squad is accompanied by an independent character they may be mounted in a Raider at an additional cost of +55 pts, or a Vendetta at an additional cost of +85 pts. The independent character must be purchased as a separate HQ choice, and must accompany the Hellspawn in order to get them to mount or dismount from the transport.
SPECIAL RULES

Hatred: Hellspawn hate all living things, and will attempt to kill anything within reach. If the Hellspawn are not accompanied by an independent character at the beginning of any Dark Eldar turn, roll a D6. On a roll of 3-6 the Hellspawn will move towards the nearest enemy unit and assault if possible. On a roll of 1-2 they will move, and if possible assault, the nearest unit of any type, friend or foe. Note that Hellspawn will even attack targets they have no chance of damaging, such as tanks or dreadnoughts.

Fearless: hellspawn have little memory of fear, and will always pass any Leadership-based test they are required to make. Note that attacks which cause fall back without a Leadership test will cause the Hellspawn to retreat - such attacks are powerful enough to drive them back by sheer force.

Terrifying Opponent: Hellspawn have a savage determination to utterly destroy everything in their path, making them terrifying to fight against at close quarters. Any opponent beaten by them in close combat automatically falls back without a Leadership test being taken.

Slow: Note that Hellspawn, despite their low armour save, may not use the Fleet of Foot rule.

WYCHES
Ruled over by their Succubi, Wyches spend their entire lives perfecting the skills of gladiatorial combat. Such is their level of training that combat takes on the status of an art, a lethal dance for the enjoyment of those in the Arenas. Archons often obtain the services of Wyches, exchanging many souls for the elite warriors.

HELLBLADE WYCHES
Among the most graceful of the Wyches are the Hellblades, who fight armoured duels with their deadly katana. Hellblades are often used to neutralise heavily-armoured enemies, forming an arrowhead that shatters the defensive line to allow the rest of the force to spill in and take captives.
